The Salt City Market is an 84,000 square foot mixed-use, community centric facility located at the crossroads of Downtown Syracuse’s business district and the City’s south and west-side neighborhoods.

The building’s 22,000 square foot ground level is a melting pot of Syracuse culture and cuisine featuring a ten-vendor food hall, two anchor tenants, and community room designed to bring together those from all walks of life. The uniquely designed interior diverges from traditional food hall design, promoting action throughout the core of the building and around the window cladded perimeter.

Shared office and meeting space within a 12,550 SF Class A office area on the second floor is home to the Allyn Foundation, Syracuse Urban Partnership and several community-minded not-for-profits. Completing the 4-story structure are 26 mixed income 1- and 2-bedroom apartments.

The dynamic interior is encapsulated by an extraordinary, angled facade that takes full advantage of the triangular site and connects to the community on all four sides. The mechanical systems consist of dedicated split units for each apartment and a central four-pipe (chiller/boiler) system with fan coils and air handlers for the offices and the market.

Conceived by the Allyn Family Foundation and put into play by their newly formed non-profit, Syracuse Urban Partnership, the Salt City Market is a true champion of the Syracuse community marking the first ground up construction in Downtown proper in over 40 years.
